SAVE THE DATE! European Cooperation Day Activities - 21.09.2012

ecd_logo.jpgEuropean Cooperation Day (ECD) will be celebrated across Europe and in neighbouring countries for the first time ever on 21 September 2012. With 75 European Territorial Cooperation programmes on board, more than 100 local events will take place all over Europe during the week of 17 – 23 September. The aim of the campaign which is coordinated by the INTERACT Programme in association with the European Commission, and supported by the Committee of the Regions and the European Parliament, is to celebrate the achievements of cooperation between European regions and countries.

The Joint Technical Secretariat (Haskovo) in cooperation with Antenna Office (Edirne) of the Bulgaria-Turkey IPA Cross-border Programme are organizing local events on 21 September, 2012 for ECD, namely an “Award Ceremony of the Photography Contest –Sharing Borders-Growing Closer” in Edirne, Turkey and the “Photo Exhibition - Projects without Borders” at the border crossing (Kapikule Border Gate) on the same date. The Press Conference for ECD will also take place following the Award Ceremony which the press members from both countries are kindly invited to participate.

The local events under the Bulgaria-Turkey IPA Cross-border Programme will also take place in both countries aimed at a broad audience including citizens and general public in the cross-border region with active youth participation to the street events and the media participation to the site visits to the projects funded under the Programme.
