21.12.10 | News

European Commission gave positive assessment on description of management and control systems on Bulgaria-Turkey IPA CBC Programme.

Managing Authority (MA) of the Programme is “Territorial Cooperation Management” Directorate General in Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works of Republic of Bulgaria. National Authority of the Programme is Secretariat General for European Union Affairs (EUSG) of Republic of Turkey.

Received positive assessment is a guarantee that the rules and procedures set up by the Managing Authority of the Programme are reliable enough for effective utilization and management of EU funds.

Approval of management and control systems by Brussels gives access to fresh financial resources and facilitates the achievement of the European funds to beneficiaries.
Receipt of a positive compliance assessment will give support to the potential beneficiaries of districts Bourgas, Yambol and Haskovo on the Bulgarian side and provinces of Edirne and Kırklareli on the Turkish side.
The total value of the IPA CBC Programme Bulgaria - Turkey for the period 2007 - 2011 is 21.7 million euro, out of which 18.5 million euro are European funding and 3.3 million euro national co-financing from state budgets by both partnering countries.
