The implementation of procedures regarding preventing, identifying, reporting and dealing with the irregularities under the Bulgaria-Turkey IPA Cross-border Programme aims to:
- Protect the financial interests of the EC, Republic of Bulgaria and Republic of Turkey;
- Recover the funding misused for irregularities or in case of fraud;
- Prevent similar cases in the future;
- Review systems and procedures for preventing future irregularities;
- Cooperate with the EU and, if applicable, with other countries for disclosure and prevention of irregularities outside the territory of Bulgaria and the partner country.
