The Joint Monitoring Committee (JMC) of Bulgaria-Turkey IPA Cross-Border Programme was held on 13 July 2012 in the town Igneada- Kirklareli, Turkey. JMC representatives from both national and regional level and other economic, social and environmental partners of both states attended to the meeting.
The session was opened by co-chairpersons Mr. Mehmet Sureyya Suner, Director of the Financial Cooperation Directorate of the Ministry for EU Affairs of Turkey and Bulgarian Deputy Minister of Regional Development and Public Works Mr. Nikolay Nankov.
45 Project Proposals at the total amount of 13,1 Million Euros have been approved for funding under the 2nd Call for Proposals. The projects aim to provide opportunities for joint initiatives and practices for social and economic development and for the improvement of the quality of life in the cross - border region.
A comparative review of results from the 2nd Call for project proposals under the program, an analysis of the current projects under the 1st Call and issues about the preparation of the 3rd Call for project proposals have been discussed.
The indicative period to launch the 3rd Call for Project Proposals has also been discussed and has been agreed to be during the first quarter of the year 2013.
