The apiculture is a phenomenon, which combines culture, means of living ,ancient craft, and many traditions .
the project will create predispositions for presenting the apiculture as a cultural treasure and non -material cultural heritage of region , as well as it will be a powerful tool for intercultural exchange and vital communication among Balkan region's countries and ethnos .

National Bee Branch Association / NBBA / was created in 2003 on the basis of the Act of beekeeping in Bulgaria, adopted and promulgated by the National Assembly / SG. 57 / 2003
The organization represents and unifies 14063 members-apiarists, honey and honey products producers, unified in bee-keeping unions at a municipal and regional level on the territory of the whole country, merchants and honey processors, honey-therapists, scientists and specialists on contagious and non-contagious bee diseases, university tutors from the country, NBO and unions working in the area of ecology and bio-economy.
NBBA issues the only weekly newspaper “Beekeeping newspaper” in Europe, specialized in the area of beekeeping , as well as a monthly magazine “Beekeeping”, which is a benchmark tool for the Bulgarian apiarists and has a background of more than 100 years. NBBA has issued a series of books under the heading – “Beekeeping library”, which are profiled for the types of technologies used in beekeeping.
The organization maintains an electronic edition. NBBA has a determining role for the keeping of the apiculture as a part of the culture-historical livelihood of the Bulgarians, for the distribution and the promotion if competent information about the significance of the bees for the environment and the necessity to engage the Bulgarian society in the ecology care
