Edirne Nature Sports Club was established in 2005. Our objectives are to develop some sportive activities such as Mountain Sports, Canoe& Rafting, Cycling, Skiing, and so on in Edirne and to get nature consciousness, to be aware of life between children and youth and also to advertise nature sports to people. These two sports: mountaineering and Cycling are doing as active sports. On the other hand, we are organizing trekking at the weekends in the Thrace Region, preparing brochures and broadcasts about nature and ecology in order to call people attention in our region. There are 108 active members aged between 18 and 40 in the club today, but our door is open to all youths without being a member. However, in order to be member, having a nature love and protection conscious are enough. To make the young supporters and followers of all kind of political, social, economical and cultural Works for contributing to the development of Edirne region and Turkey. Activities for local people: we organize some meetings with young, local and disadvantaged people. We implemented two EU Project, one is “Too wheels much sugar” www.ikitekercokseker.com (National Youth Initiative Project) cycling activities with gipsy children and youngsters in the city of Edirne, and second one is “Adult Motivation with Nature Sports” www.adultmotivation.com (Grundtvig Project) with elder people aiming the adult education by nature sports. In national scale we have licensed mountaineers and cyclers attending national activities. In local scale, we are cooperating closely local organizations, public bodies and we are organizing seminars, photo exhibitions, lectures in public schools and so on. We have already been partner to BG-TR itinary youth exchange titled “Biking vs Prujudices” about which you can find extra information on http://sipbulgaria.org/. Furthermore, we have taken part in a project which was supported EU,Youth in Action 1.1 in Romania. The name of project is ‘’Nature Connect Us’’ .The host of the project is Outwardbound Romania and you can find information about that project on mailto:http://www.outwardbound.ro/.At last but not least ,We have taken part in a project which was supported by EU ,Youth action 1.1 held in Plovdiv,Bulgaria.The name of the project is Youth dreams of Eurotheatre whose purpose was to create an understanding of probblems that other European partners suffer in their life and perform them in a humorous way .Project was perfectly compeleted by 25 participants from Bulgaria,Romania,Hungary,Lithuania and Turkey.
